Philip Edward Percy Davis murdered his wife Wilhelmina Vermadell Davis 33 and his niece Monica Rowe 15 by battering and asphyxiating them at Pendarven Street, Tuckingmill, near Camborne around 21 April 1937.

After he buried them in an inspection pit in a garage he rented.
